Read more and FAQ

The devotion to the Holy Face grew from the visions of Sister Mary of St. Peter in Tours and later of Blessed Maria Pierina de Micheli in Milan, who spread the Holy Face medal in the 1940s. It honors the suffering face of Christ and asks Him to remember us.

Our medals show the face from the Holy Shroud, in sterling silver or gold over 925 silver, and the Sancta Sindon medal, which recalls the cloth kept in Oviedo, Spain. They are small enough to wear every day on a chain.

Items marked as blessed are taken from our shop in Rome to the Papal audience in St. Peter's Square, are blessed by Pope Leo XIV and ship with a holy card of the Papal blessing.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Holy Face medal mean?

It is a sign of devotion to the suffering face of Christ, an act of love and reparation. The traditional medal carries a Latin prayer asking the Lord to let the light of His face shine upon us.

Is the gold medal solid gold?

No. It is 925 sterling silver with gold over it, which keeps the warm color while staying affordable.

What is the Sancta Sindon medal?

Sancta Sindon is Latin for the Holy Shroud. The medal recalls the burial cloths of Christ, the Shroud and the cloth kept in the cathedral of Oviedo.
