Padre Pio Relics

A relic is a physical link with a saint, kept to honor his memory and to ask his intercession before God.

The relics on this page are second-class relics (ex indumentis, from the saint's clothing): tiny fragments of cloth from garments worn by Padre Pio, sealed into a medal, a rosary, a holy card or a small reliquary. Catholics do not worship relics; they venerate the saint and pray with him, trusting that the grace comes from God alone.

Here you will find relic medals of many sizes, from tiny medals to silver-tone pendants and a rare vestment relic pendant, and our Padre Pio rosaries, each carrying a relic and blessed by Pope Leo XIV. There are vintage holy cards from Italy with a relic laminated into the card, a key ring with a relic for the car or the house keys, and a cloth relic reliquary locket. The relic is never sold: it is a gift with the medal, rosary or card that holds it.

Keep a relic on a home altar, carry it in a pocket or wallet, or hold it while praying for someone who is ill. For rosaries only, see Padre Pio Rosaries; for holy cards, Padre Pio Holy Cards; for everything about the saint, the Padre Pio page.

Frequently asked questions

What does ex indumentis mean?

It is Latin for "from the clothing". It describes a second-class relic made of a small fragment of fabric from a garment the saint wore.

Are these relics of Padre Pio's body?

No. Everything here is a second-class relic from his clothing, which is the kind of relic the Church allows the faithful to keep at home.

Can I give a Padre Pio relic as a gift?

Yes. A relic medal or holy card is a common gift for someone who is ill or grieving, and the relic itself always comes as a gift, never sold.

How should I treat a relic?

With reverence. If you no longer want it, give it to another Catholic or to a church, never throw it away.
