Collection: Padre Pio Holy Cards

Holy cards have carried Padre Pio's face and prayers around the world since his lifetime.

Read more and FAQ

Pilgrims to San Giovanni Rotondo brought them home by the thousands, slipped them into missals and wallets, and passed them on to the sick. The cards on this page are vintage pieces from Italy, each one a small piece of that history.

Most of these holy cards carry a second-class relic (ex indumentis, from the saint's clothing), laminated into the card together with the saint's image and a prayer. Alongside them you will find rare vintage photographs of Padre Pio, old postcards, a greeting card and one holy card printed in French. Because they are vintage, designs, wording and condition vary from card to card, and the photo on each listing shows the piece you will receive.

A holy card fits in a Bible, a prayer book or a frame on a home altar, and it is a gentle gift for someone who is ill or grieving. For relic medals and rosaries blessed by Pope Leo XIV, see the Padre Pio page.

Frequently asked questions

Do all the holy cards contain a relic?

Most do: they carry a second-class relic (ex indumentis), a tiny fragment of cloth from the saint's clothing. The photographs and postcards do not, and each listing states it.

Are these cards new?

No. They are vintage cards from Italy, so each has its own design and age. The listing photo shows the card you will receive.

Is the relic authentic?

Many cards carry the postulator's seal on the relic, and each listing states the kind of relic it holds.
